U.S. distribution channel development

Choose a route to market that fits how your buyer purchases.

What the work addresses

A distributor list is useful only when the companies on it can reach and serve the right customers. Riddy Group helps international manufacturers evaluate direct sales, specialty distribution, integrators, and other channel options around the product's sales process, service demands, and economics.

Map the work the channel must perform

Clarify whether the product requires technical explanation, demonstrations, installation, recurring supplies, training, or ongoing service. Then identify which party can perform each task. A partner with broad coverage may still lack the expertise or customer access required for a specialized application.

Qualify operating fit

Channel discussions should test customer overlap, relevant product categories, sales incentives, competing lines, technical capability, territory coverage, and reporting practices. Evidence can include reference conversations and a concrete launch plan, subject to consent and availability. A logo or a large contact database is not sufficient evidence of fit.

Start with accountable commitments

Define an initial scope, target accounts, enablement materials, support contacts, and a review cadence. Commercial terms and any exclusivity should be reviewed by the appropriate advisers. Expanding the relationship should follow demonstrated activity, buyer response, and a workable service model.

Will a distributor automatically create U.S. demand?

No. Some partners fulfill demand that already exists; others actively develop accounts. The agreement and operating plan should make that distinction clear. Channel recruitment may need to follow buyer validation rather than precede it.

Scope the engagement

The product, evidence available, manufacturer support, and buyer process determine the appropriate scope. An introductory discussion does not establish a partnership or commit either party to a launch. Responsibilities, deliverables, commercial terms, and any specialist work are agreed separately.
